MPEM: AFRIK FINANCES HOLDING met with Minister Fassou THEA ahead of the FONI 2026 conference in Conakry

Conakry, February 20, 2026 – On a visit to Conakry, a delegation from 𝐀𝐅𝐑𝐈𝐊 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆, led by its President & CEO Mr. 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄̀𝐃𝐄 and his Special Advisor Mr. 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐞 𝐊𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐎𝐔, was received by the Minister of Fisheries and the Maritime Economy, Mr. 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐮 𝐓𝐇𝐄́𝐀. The meeting focused on the upcoming opening of the Guinean subsidiary and on preparations for the 5th edition of the International Forum on Intermediation, Digital Technology, and Innovation (𝐅𝐎𝐍𝐈), scheduled for April 27–30, 2026, in 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐫𝐲.
A regional institution accredited by the BCEAO and already established in four countries, AFRIK FINANCES HOLDING aims to expand to ten countries over the next five years. FONI 2026 will bring together more than 1,000 participants—financial institutions, fintechs, telecom operators, insurance companies, and SMEs – to address the challenges of financing fisheries, the maritime economy, and food sovereignty.
Minister 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐮 𝐓𝐇𝐄́𝐀 praised this initiative, as it is fully aligned with President 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐢 𝐃𝐎𝐔𝐌𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐘𝐀’s vision, and emphasized the importance of this partnership for a sustainable and inclusive blue economy. To that end, he took the opportunity to outline the department’s priorities.
